Late last fall (2013) Karlene and I packed up our Jake’s Landing business and hit the road with our dog Gulliver. We were heading west for the winter and had no time to get there. Our road trip took us through the northern states where we only whet our appetite for adventure. We left Liverpool on a Monday morning and arrived in Golden, BC that Friday night.
We’ve enjoyed our winter in the mountains, and so has Gulliver. We have been lucky enough to put in some time ski touring in Rogers Pass and the Shuswap Highlands. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has given us plenty of steep terrain to explore and practice our turns.
With spring here so soon we’re faced with packing up once again and hitting the road. Our little cabin in the woods won’t be nearly as involved, and before we know it we’ll be making our way east. We only need to decide on our route… maybe via Utah for some canyon hiking? We’ll see…
In the mean time we’re looking forward to kicking off another great season at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site. Can’t hardly wait for a smoked salmon bagel from The Wilder!
